The images are from a body of work about a former mining town in Sweden. It saw its last mine close in the 50s, similar to other geographic places, the mines and the mine waste have affected the town, the people living there and the surrounding landscape throughout its history. The mine waste, still present in large heaps, is historic and cannot be altered. The waste is also a threat to the ecosystem, as it leaks heavy metals due to its acidity. The images are shot in the town while the stones are collected mine waste from the area.
